Computer-Control Cervical or Lumbar Traction
Therapy
A Highly Successful, Non-Surgical
Alternative Procedure for Relieving Low
Back, Neck, Arm, & Leg Pain
What is Computer-Control Traction Therapy?
Computer-Control Traction Therapy is a
non-surgical procedure that effectively
treats disabling low back, neck, and
radiating leg, & arm pain. Computer-Control
Traction Therapy effectively relieves pain
associated with disc herniation,
degenerative discs, posterior facet
syndromes, due to decompression of spinal
discs and facet joints, that is, unloading
due to distraction and positioning. Traction
Therapy effectively enhances the healing
process and renders quick, effective and
amazing pain relief that enables most
patients to return to a more active
lifestyle. Research to develop this
procedure was conducted by prominent
physicians, engineers and technicians at
major teaching hospitals.
Is Traction Therapy right for you?
Traction Therapy is an effective
treatment for patients suffering herniated
or degenerated discs as well as posterior
facet syndrome, which respond well to the
distraction. Traction Therapy begins with a
series of sessions typically 2-3 times per
week. Other therapies may be performed on
the same day if needed. After treatment, Dr.
Richey may prescribe specific exercises
designed to help you regain control and
strengthen the co-contractor muscles that
are responsible for stabilization. There are
other types of "decompression" therapy
tables in Anchorage you may have heard of
including VAX-D and DRS. Although effective,
these therapies are limited to treatment of
the low back only and must be used either
face up or face down depending on the
particular device. Our new Computer-Control
Traction Therapy Table is unique in that it
is proven effective and safe for the
treatment of the low back as well as upper
back and the neck. Clinical studies suggest
Traction Therapy provides a majority of
qualified candidates with initial relief
within a few sessions. Maximum benefit from
this type of therapy is often achieved
within 8-16 sessions.
